Ash dieback surveys trees

Ash Dieback Surveys

Ash dieback is a lethal fungal disease of ash trees (Fraxinus species), especially native ash species, common ash (Fraxinus excelsior). It is caused by a fungus named Hymenoscyphus fraxineus and has caused significant damage to the UK’s ash population, with implications for woodland biodiversity and ecology, and for the hardwood industries.
